If you are proud parent, then you already know something about Madagascar from the same called film Madagascar. Madagascar’s forests are full of animals, especially monkeys- lemur, which are frisking around pillar of baobab, aloe, and the octopus tree.

Forests are unfortunately constantly exposed to destruction, but they are still so lush and beautiful, that you would be nicely surprised.

But, Madagascar other, different face is called “Tana” –with this I mean capital of Madagascar called Antananarivo, which I the same as other world capital. Antananarivo is known as noisy a filthy city, but still a place where you still have something to see.

A district, southwest of Analakely is ideal for night life and gourmet delights, and the old town and the remains of Rova, known as the former royal palace.

Nosy Be is the hotel complex known also as one of the jewels in Madagascar. Nosy Be is one of the best resort complex, the most elite, most luxurious, a perfect place for “resorts” fans. Ifaty is a quiet coastal area, where you can take time off, and relax in the villages Mangilly and Mandio Rano.

This tropical environment is perfect and very good for meditation and relaxation. The best time to visit Madagascar would be between November and March, where there is a good, dry and hot summer.

Just in case if you don’t know, Aruba is an island near to Venezuela, and take me for my word and do believe, has the most beautiful sunset among all sunsets all over the world. This one will definitely lure out this amazing “aaaaaaahhh”, from the moment you will saw it.

Like on every most touristic place, also Aruba will offer you various assortment of things that you cn do or see, places to visit, sightseeing worth not missing,… There are also various luxuries hotels, and on the other hand, you will have chances to see also very simple and poor places, where only goats and trees divi-divi life and grow.

But while you are visiting Aruba, please do visit Oranjestd, a pastel capital city, with Dutch architecture, combined with amazingly good possibilities also to do shopping.

The high season for European and American tourist is between December and April, although Aruba is known to be an island, which is warm and hot all year long.

We just like to visit it mostly when we have cold weather at home. Then we almost always, I know I do, remember, that we already hard about Top ten most beautiful exotic islands which would be worth visiting.

1.    First one from ten most beautiful exotic islands is BALI

Bali is the most accessible tropic paradise. It has all that tropic paradise should have to be declared as one of most beautiful places.

It is colorful island with paddy fields, volcanoes, tropical humid forest, and sandy beaches with palm and with warm Indian Ocean.

You will live through Bali’s “flower power” in orchid garden, which are widely growing on volcanoes soil – growing so widely as nowhere else in the world.

Do visit these magic gardens with thousands of orchids and enjoy in blossom tropic fireworks.

Spending your days on a sandy beach, with some exotic fruit in your hand and under the straw-covered shade, you will have brilliant opportunity to forget about old cold continental, a faraway place, from which you came from.

While you there, do take a chance to visit local people, chat with them, go to the local market, and feel its energy.

Malta, also known as the heart of the Mediterranean

At Malta, also known as one of the ninth smallest countries in the world, which lies on three islands between the two continents, a lot of leaders of Mediterranean places have left much of its history here.  Although I would hard to say, that Malta and me were a love on first sight.

But this small piece of the world offers so many cultural treasures, preserved architectural gems, intact city areas, and archives which hold immense value for centuries.

The sun’s rays are resisting through large glass walls of the hotel breakfast rooms at Hilton Malta were I was staying. I was just having; crispy croissant, delicious jam, but the hotel coffee, which always spoils this magnificent taste. I am looking back over the large swimming pool on the terrace, which is surrounded by palm trees. But my view is breaking through the deep blue Mediterranean Sea.

The area of the hotel I stayed in, reminded me quite of Monaco. Slanted buildings with apartments are part of the hill in the area of Portomaso.

Below, on the port there are tied yachts, which could easily compete with those of Monte Carlo.

But only a few hundred meters away, there is a gulf, where small fishing boats are tied up. By thus view, there are numerous pleasant outdoor restaurants.

47 cents to get to Valette

Malta has many different images. Just a few minutes ‘walk from our hotel there is the bus station. We wait only a few minutes and one of those classic yellow buses came. This bus is nice and old, and it will take you at least half a century back in the past. And for 47 cents, it will take you to city Valette.

I watch a man who sits opposite me. He has a rounded belly, and to big trousers with a belt tightened, it looks a little bit funny. He stretched out his hand and pulled the cord which is on the ceiling; this trigger is a bell, which warns the driver that he wants to leave at the next station. There isn’t any door t the bus, so the driver does not need to open them. It’s quite a funny scene here. I just decided to go with the flow and to try as much as possible on my trip.

About the island

Limestone rock is present everywhere on the island, from these rock palaces were built, also city walls, and to say it in short, almost everything is build from this rock. The island does not offer us much green space in those summer months, already poor vegetation get burn from high sun. Unique sandy color buildings change it color slightly under the rays of the sun. These buildings are adorned with typical Maltese balconies, which are painted in bright colors, mostly in blue. These balconies give unique and real decoration to streets and neighborhood.

It would be a pity to spend holidays only at the beach side of Malta, eventough Malta is known as the sunniest European country. The beaches are rocky and there are only few little picturesque bays.

An island attracts many sailors, surfers and divers in particular. Furthermore, Malta is a popular spot for cruising. Cruises are usually tied at the edge of a vast natural port, which lies between the capital Valetto and three-tight-lying cities: Vittoriosa, Senglea and Cospicua.

The magnificent view into the past

But Malta is an island, which gives much more and offers spectacular views into the past. When I was at Old-boat voyage I still could hear our guide words; Malta lies at the edge of Europe, but by her history we could have place it right in her heart. A Maltese language is much more reminiscent as one of the Arab languages.  They say that it is most similar to Lebanon, even though it has an influence also from Italian and French culture.

Malta in the Arab world resembles the architecture, only the faithful locals are mainly Christians, there is only one mosque on the island, but there are so many churches, that you could visit different one for each day of the year.  However, on the island where there are three islands make up the country (Malta, Gozo and Comino) it’s not hard to communicate.

The second official language is English, which has remained, like driving in the left lane and the typical red telephone booths, the legacy of the British, who have allowed the country until independence in 1964.

Malta’s strategic position

Thanks to its advantageous strategic position between Europe and Africa, with only about 100 km from Sicily and 230 from Tunisia, Malta has always been a springboard to Europe and Africa and a key power to the Mediterranean. There were living Phoenicians on Malta, which were followed by Carthaginians, Romans, Arabs, Germans and many others.

In middle Ages, there were members of the Knights settled on the island, known as the Knights of Malta, who have heart fought against the Turks and prevent them, to conquered Malta. Knights ruled only two centuries, then, Napoleon was on his way to Egypt, and then consequently Malta joined France. French rule lasted a short time, as the natives with the assistance of the British kingdom resisted.

In Malagasy head never comes thought to control the thoughts and work of others. Each individual has his own way of life and his neighbors never bothered him.  In this respect, these islanders are much wiser than Europeans are. European people have some kind of heartlessly crazy wish, that all people in the world should support their habits, opinions and even prejudices.

But, Malagasy people are also known as diligent and hardworking people.

“On the very beginning they were all black people. Then God said, you should take a bath in a Grand Lake and you will become white. Due to fact, that there were a lot of people, there was a log cue in front of the lake. Malagasy were among the last people who came to the lake, and when they come to the lake, the lake has almost dried up.  There was only so much water, that they soaked their hands and feet in the lake. So, the Malagasy people stayed black, with bright hands and feet.”

This is the legend, and also answers to a Malagasy question, when they ask, why they are not white color.

Madagascar, the fourth largest island in the world that can compare in size to France, lies just 400 miles off the east African coast.

Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, is a mixture of French and African architecture.

Despite this proximity and closeness, Madagascar is simply different, no matter to what you compare it to. Evolution embarked here its own path and most of the animals and vegetation that characterize this island are not found anywhere else on the planet.

Madagascar is a land with open and friendly people, taboos, and poor roads.

These are characteristics that unwittingly accompany research in this Red island and also have a strong influence on it. The rainy season the large part of the island is accessible only by air, while most local villages are completely cut off from the world. The so-called roads are then transformed into rivers of mud and sand. In the dry period the roads are mainly transportable, but hardened mud lumps and holes do not provide opportunities for fast driving. In good weather in a car you will need 2 hours to do 20 miles. There are also only few railway connections on Madagascar. Actually, there are only two.  Therefore, the more developed is a road traffic, with the typical small buses or vans which they call a taxi-brousse.

They are used for both; also for short distances and also for services lasting 48 hours or longer, sometimes up to a week.

People in Madagascar – Malagasy should have their roots in Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Malaysia).

About 2000 years ago they sail across the Indian Ocean and settled in this great island of Africa. On the island, in addition to beliefs that they brought with them a variety of invaders, the most popular cult is one of ancestors. This is the ritual worship of ancestors, which probably stems from the beginnings of the religion-related beliefs in the afterlife. The worship and sacrifice to live using the power of the ancestors, to increase the fertility of the people, animals and plants.

House, grave or a village are cult ancestral homes and therefore they are to worship. These habits of their ancestors are sacred to Malagasy people, and therefore they often refuse to accept new ways of farming and new cultures. This is also reflected in everyday life. There have been created commandments and prohibitions – Various taboos – in Malagasy language called »Fady«, which is in close connection with the past, present and future.

Fady word is originally from in Borneo. It means a taboo or prohibition. Malagasy people take Fady very seriously.   They are saying that they would rather die than to eat something forbidden. By nature Malagasy are very diligent and hardworking. However, since the power of Fady is so great for them, there isnot much time left for work.

Madagascar is located in the Indian Ocean and is the fifth largest island in the world, but is also the country with an area of 587,041 square kilometers and on Madagascar lives a little less than 15 million people.

To Madagascar also belongs two of nearby islands, named Nosy Be and Nosy Borah. From the Africa
coast separates him a Mozambique Channel, which is situated about 40 kilometer from Madagascar coast.

Visitors are mainly attracted by the unusual flora and fauna, which in the last 180 million years – this is the time since the island was separated from the mainland – was developing in a quite unique way, so here we can also find many endemic species.

From a 7,400 plant species that we could find them on the island, there are about 5800 sort of species, which do not naturally grow anywhere else in the world.
The island has a very diverse landscape. It is divided into three units. The central high plateau consists of old massif of granite.  It is situated at an altitude of 750 to 1400 meters and occupies two thirds of the island. Above this high plateau rise three mountain wreaths: Tsaratanana in the north (it is the highest in the country, 2,876 meters high Maromokotro) Ankaratra in the middle and Andringitra in the south.

The plateau is densely populated, since there is the most favorable climate for living. Temperatures are slightly lower in winter, where the average temperature is between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius and in summer there is about 20 and 25 degrees Celsius.  Annual rain drop report is from 1,000 to 1,500 millimeters of rainfall. Western and northwestern zone sediments are for about 100 to 200 kilometers covered with wide lowlands. Lowlands has the hot climate with temperatures ranging between 25 to 30 degrees. Rainfall decreases from 1500 mm in the northwest to 300 mm in the south.

The poorest is the south part of island
South of the island is the poorest area, where there are frequently severe droughts and famines.  Eastern coastal land is wide only up to 30 kilometers and with a massive relief stage separates it from the central high plateau. Here is hot and humid tropical climate with temperatures between 25 and 30 degrees, annual rainfall exceeds 1800 mm.

Two thousand years old footprints
The first people settled in Madagascar only about 2000 years ago, and they started to change the original image of the island. Therefore, about 90 percent of the forest is gone today, it had been cut out.  Due to deforestation, soil erosion and drought, ecological problems are encountered, many animal and plant species are threatened and some have even become extinct.

Traveling through the island is slow and uncomfortable
Travelling in Madagascar, also known as one of the least developed countries in the world, where still for about three quarters of the population earn a living with subsistence farming, is slow and uncomfortable. Most of the roads are in a bad condition. Madagascar is island wish is 1600 miles long and up to 600 km wide, and it only has around 2,000 kilometers of asphalted roads and 900 kilometers of railways.

Due to remoteness and poor infrastructure Madagascar visits a small numbers of tourist people each year.

It’s not an island, which would be named as one of best destinations to travel.
It is interesting for tourist and travelers, which do not mind a lack of western luxuries.

It is for people, who find pleasure in visiting and exploring places with common, simple people in not yet fully explored land.

Here we can still find many places which still have untouched nature, which you can admire and learn about it. But, once you visit Madagascar, you will never be sorry. From my point of view this is one of best places to visit.

This is how they say greeting in Hawaii, instead saying Merry Christmas. Actually, this is a direct translation of the English Merry Christmas, only Hawaiian people say it in their own dialect.

This phrase it has seen its thanks because of a farewell song, which was signed by Robert Alex Anderson. But in the world it has been carried out by Bing Crosby, and later many others. . “Mele Kalikimaka” are words that pronouncing the Hawaiian Christmas Day. This is the greeting that you send from the land where palm trees sway in the gentle breeze.

“Here I know that Christmas will be green and clear, the sun will shine and the night will be shining stars – these are just few lines of the most popular island song.  Green appears on all eight Hawaiian Islands, which are on the flag of the British Union Jack in the upper left corner, where represent the red, blue and white stripes.

A green with its entire luster is the most glowing on island Kauai, which is by the size the fourth larger island of Hawaii and at the same time the older island from Hawaii “chain” of islands. It is no wonder that the island put on the nickname “Garden Isle«.

When Hawaii was still a Kingdom, Kauai was the last island that joins to Kingdom.
Kauai prince Kaumualii has persistently resisted the Hawaiian king Kamehamehiin.  Even tough, he had secret talks with representatives of Russian-American trading companies, which were to  provide assistance to Kauai, meaning a Russian army. But the emperor Alexander I. apparently wasn’t too excited about the sponsorship to remote Pacific island, so Kaumuali had no choice, but to agree and join the kingdom.

The first white man who saw this magical island was the English captain, James Cook. When he,  in 1778 discovered the islands in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, he named the island after his patron, Count Sandwichu (though at the demographic coordinates he wrote the original name of the natives, who called the Islands  Owyhee), which landed right on Kauai.  The island lies about 170 km north of Oahuja, the main Hawaiian Islands, where is also a much known city Honolulu.

Kauai is the opposite image of the commercialized and Americanized paradise. Also, there has grown modern urban hotels, only few, but they all manage to keep a good part of the primeval. About 20 kilometers to the west lay the Niihau, forbidden island, where the original Hawaiian people still live by ancient traditions and have no electricity and no running water.  In the middle Kauai, rises about 1600 meters high volcano, named Waialeale, which top is mainly still covered with cap of clouds.

This is the most humid section of the planet, on which the average annual fall ismore than ten thousand millimeters of rain (a record was in 1982 with 17,300 mm).

Despite the primal nature, or mainly because of it, Kauai becomes a Hollywood superstar. There, they recorded the myriad jungle – exotic scenes. List of Kauai films is almost endless. Hollywood has discovered this remarkable island as early as 1933, when they record a film called White Heat. In 1957, they have chosen this island for the main events of legendary film South Pacific with Mitzi Gaynor, John and Ray Kerr Walston. In 1977, they have filmed here also a few scenes of King Kong film. Recently filmed films here were all three parts of Jurassic Park, Six days seven nights, Dragonflies, …

Most of these films has borrowed as a backdrop for the northern coast of the island, which is called the Pali Coast. These are cliffs, which are thousands of feet high and overgrown with tropical plants. These cliffs are “falling” into the ocean, and they are also considered as one of the wonders of nature.

Although high above the coast,  runs eleven miles long Kalalau path, which always rank one of among the ten most fascinating trekking  in the world, the coast can be seen only by boat or helicopter. But, there also been set up a lookout point for tourists, which has been for many tourists the most photogenic view of the Pacific.

From this “Bellevue«, you could have a magnificent view of natural cathedral, which are unfortunately often hidden in a mysterious tropical mist.

Places in Kauai are small, they have mostly wooden buildings, which shouldn’t be higher than three storey. But nevertheless, there has been a giant among these small houses, its called Hanalei. This is a small very special town. If you can call it a town.  It nests in a natural botanical garden in the northern part of the island, where fichus, over which they sometimes were delighted by our grandmothers, grow as parasites on the trunks of tropical trees.

This is the home of many surfers, the real ones, the one that are fearless, crazy, daring the wear a bronze torso. When you look at them, while they are riding on the huge waves on the beach Luamhai, you envy them. Envy them their peaceful life without the urban distress, mortgages, credit …

Moreover, you envy them, that the magical, huge weaves had taken them into their kingdom.  You envy their understanding of the ocean and nature, which is by playing with them, despite all its wildness, seems gentle and friendly.
