linseedoilThere are many different theories about the ratio of nutrients(and the proportion of fat) in our diet. There are those who promote it in most fitness magazines and trade books on a healthy diet, where the percentage of fat in the diet should be reduced to well below 10%, on the one hand, to those who defend the 70% fat intake. However, we should not forget the great difference in the chemical composition of fat alone. The effect of these in the flesh can vary significantly depending on their chemical composition. In a series of articles I will try to include all important findings, which relate to fat in our diet.

There are two essential fatty acids. These are fatty acids, which man can not produce itself from other substances, but are indispensable for the and the proper functioning of the human body and must therefore be entered with the food. These are linoleic acid, which belongs to the group of fatty acids omega 6 (hereinafter referred to as LA) and alpha linolenic acid, which belongs to the group of fatty acids Omega 3 (hereinafter referred to as LNA).

Often can be read that fat is not healthy, but this refers only to saturated (animal fat, butter) and trans unsaturated fatty acids (usually processed oil, which you can buy in the shops, and margarine).

FlaxSeedsModernEssential fatty acids can not be classified in this group because they have an entirely different composition and perform a number of very important tasks for health in the human body: from reducing the levels of bad cholesterol in the body to prevention of cancer. LNA, which is the best source of linseed oil has many positive attributes to our health and in the construction of the body (from weight gain fat loss).

Essential fatty acids:

  • Acts antilipogenic (block storage of fat in the body)
  • Acts antikatabolic (inhibit the degradation of muscle tissue)
  • Increase beta oxidation (fat burning)
  • Increased sensitivity to insulin in muscle cells

- The body produces prostaglandins (short-living substance, like hormones, which regulate the operation in the vicinity of adjacent cells. They are directly related to the regulation of pressure, sensitivity for insulin, immune system, and anabolic and catabolic processes…) from them.

The recommended daily intake is one to three large spoons linseed oil, preferably in a mixed protein drink (book by Dr.. Udo Erasmus: Fats that Heal Fats that Kill), or one linseed oil spoon for every 30 kg of human weight (as recommended by Will Brink, the man who introduced the linseed oil in Bodybuilding). If we are on a diet, you should take up to seven spoons of linseed oil daily.

While using linseed oil we need to know that it is very sensitive to higher temperature, light and oxygen. If linseed oil is added into food we should be adding a large quantity of antioxidants (vitamin C and E, selenium …). A large quantity of linseed oil (over three spoons) may be used only in a short period of time may otherwise it may lead to a lack of LA.

In the long term it is best that we combine fatty acid omega 3 (flax oil) with omega 6 fatty acids – sunflower oil but not refined in the trade, but cold-produced – so that you can get in the shops with a healthy diet) in ratio of 2:1.

OILS AND FATS

essential_oilBlood group A doesn’t need a lot of fat; on the contrary, they should be avoided. But although, I think you should not totally avoid oils, as is proved, that tablespoon of olive oil on cooked vegetables or fruit will lead to better digestion. Additionally, olive oil will also help to lower cholesterol, and thus protect the heart and vein.

I would recommend corn oil, as is proven to be cousin digestion problems. It not necessary, that all food that you consume is seasoned with olive oil, but still be aware and choose among allowed and recommended oil. It’s however olive oil, that is certainly the most delicious and healthy. Useful: olive oil, linseed oil. Neutral: fish oil, rapeseed oil. Harmful: peanut oil, coconut butter, butter, oil, maize germ oil and sesame oil.

Stone fruit and seeds - Pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds and walnuts are certainly very valuable in the diet group A, as they can be substitute for not having enough proteins, which can we gain by eating too little meat. The best among dry fruits are peanuts.  Eat them often along with a red wrapper, because it contains lectins, which helps to fight against cancer.

Pumpkin seeds are also very good for blood type A.  If you are facing bile problems, reduce the amount of dried fruit, and instead try to enjoy butter made of seeds. Useful: peanuts, peanut butter, Pumpkin seeds. Neutral: almond butter, almonds, chestnuts, sesame seeds, sesame butter (tahini), hazelnuts, walnuts hikori, leeches walnuts, sunflower seeds, or the butter, walnuts, macadamia nuts, Pinole, poppy seed, Pecans. Harmful: brazil nuts, kashew nuts, pistachio.

LEGUME

Group A is living with plant proteins, which we can find in legumes. But not all legumes are good and useful. For example; check peas, lima and kidney beans contain lectins, which interfere with production of insulin and stimulate existence of diabetes.

Useful: aduke beans, Adzuki beans, black beans, mountain lentils, red lentils, green lentils, green beans, Indian beans. Neutral: Green peas, young beans, sweet peas, white beans (canellini), fat beans, beans, beans jikama. Harmful: white beans, chick peas, kidney beans, lima beans, Tamarinds, dark red beans.

CEREALS AND CEREALS PRODUCTS

Group A is quite good with cereal and cereals products, so they can enjoy them daily. But do choose among naturally produced cereals. Do add to your menu fallowing; millet, soy flour, corn flour and whole oats. Ass characteristic for group A is, that they have enough mucus; therefore consumption of wheat should be limited. Otherwise it would increase secretion of mucus. Just trying will make you help you find out how much wheat you can eat without any adverse effects.

People with group A must assure, that wheat that is consumed (this causes acidity in the stomach) is balanced with fruit, which reacts basically in the stomach. Similar rules apply to cereal product, therefore chose among allowed cereals. But, do pay attention, and do avoid prepared food; minestrone, frozen or already prepared pasta. Even if you don’t have much time, try to prepare your food from the “raw” cereals on.

Useful: Amaranth, Buckwheat, rice desserts, bread from wheat germ, soy bread, rice waffles, rye flour. Neutral: oat flakes, rice flakes, Oat flour, maize flour, rice flour, rye flour, Jerusalem, kornflakes, beer, millet, barley, bread, prose bread, gluten-free bread, couscous, durum flour, quinoa, corn flour, rice (brown or white). Harmful: strong wheat flour, man-wheat flour, wholemeal bread, wheat, wheat flakes, wheat germ, wheat bran wheat grouts.

VEGETABLES

Vegetables are essential, since they supply us with minerals, enzymes and antioxidants. Enjoy them the most natural – raw or cooked in steam as then we keep a maximum of nutrients.  Group A can eat almost all vegetables, with some certain exceptions; the peppers and fermented olives may interfere with sensitive gastrointestinal. Moreover, group A is also very sensitive to the lectins of plain and sweet potato, batata potato and cabbage.

potatoes-1Group A should avoid tomatoes, because they contain very harmful lectins, which are bad for digestion tract. Most recommended vegetables are; broccoli, which are full of antioxidant. These substances may stimulate immune system and inhibit mutation of cells. Some other recommended vegetables; carrots, green cabbage, kale, pumpkin and spinach. But, do not forget garlic, which have antibiotic characteristics, which stimulates immune system and improves blood flow. Garlic is beneficial for all blood types, but most likely – group A can get the most of it, as it has very sensitive immune system.

Second very important food fro group A is tofu. You can make tastier way to prepared it; mix it with herbs and vegetables and you can also add a drop of soya sauce. Useful: germ alfalfa, artichokes, Swiss chard, broccoli, pumpkin, onions, chicory, garlic, horseradish, Swedes, parsley, Pasternak, carrots, mushrooms catfish, leeks, dandelion, Roman salad, Swedes, spinach, Jerusalem artichokes, green chicory. Neutral: avocados, Bamboo shoots, ribed vegetables, Brussels sprouts, cukine, cauliflower, endives, Head lettuce, germ mungo beans, maize, cucumber, Iceberg, sea lettuce, Lamb’s lettuce, asparagus, green olives, mushrooms Pak-Choi, spring onions, chicory, red beets, radishes, rocket, shallots, asparagus, water cress, green. Harmful: potatoes, chili, aubergines, Chinese cabbage, black olives, red, yellow and green peppers, tomatoes, red cabbage, champignons, šitaki mushrooms, cabbage.

FRUIT

For group is recommended to eat fruit at least 3 –times per day. Priority should be given to more basic fruit as forest fruit and plums, which help to balance cereal effect, which make muscles more acidic. This can affect group A negatively. Melons are also basic fruit, but should be consumed in small quantities, because they contain a microscopic fungus, which are often hard to digest. Bad tolerance is also with tropical fruit as mango and papaya, which contains enzymes that are beneficial for other groups. Pineapple on contrary is great for digestion.

Group A should also avoid oranges, eventhough you like them a lot – but they irritating stomach and make difficulties with absorption of minerals. Minerals are very much needed. Oranges triggers stomach acid reaction. But, on the other hand, also grapefruit is sour fruit, but reacts basically and therefore do not irritate digestive tract. Also lemons are usefully the same way as grapefruit. As vitamin C is a great antioxidant, it’s quite important for you to get enough of this vitamin, as you are not recommended to eat organs – so replaced them with other sour fruit as written above (also kiwi).

Furthermore, also banana is not very good for group A, as this fruit is full of potassium, as a substitute we need to increase the quantity of apricots, figs and some types of melons, which are a good source of potassium. Useful: apricots, pineapple, cherries, fresh figs, dried figs, lemons, blueberries, blackberries, grapefruit, dark plums, red plums, prunes, green plums, raisins (dried grapes), cranberries. Neutral: water melon, avocados, sambuka, kaki, carambola, Dates, Indian figa, strawberries, guava, Kiwi, Kumquats, raspberry, lime (limetta), Pomegranate, apple, winter melon, the Spanish melons, yellow melons, pears, nectarines, peaches, blackberries, red currants, grapes, elderberries, gooseberries. lychees. Harmful: oranges, bananas, melons cantaloupe, mandarin, mango, honey melon, Coconuts, papayas, rhubarb.

musclesThe risk of cancer is not reduced only from the appropriate diet and adequate weight, muscle mass is also important.

Team of experts from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden followed the living habits of 8,677 volunteers, male, aged between 20 and 82 years between 1980 and 2003.  Each volunteer had a regular medical examinations, where experts also measured muscle strength of the individual. They also followed how many suffered from cancer and the proportion of deaths for this severe disease.

The study showed that men who regularly practice with weights, have the highest muscle strength, and are 30 to 40% less likely to fall ill and die of cancer as well. They observed that the protective effect of anaerobic exercise even with the overweight volunteers, which trained regularly with weights.

In the past, experts recommended especially aerobic exercise, such as jogging, cycling … and a healthy lifestyle as a preventive measure against the occurrence of certain diseases. Today, however, experts recommend that menshould be training at least 2-times a week with weights, and not neglecting any muscle group.

NUTRITION


Meat
– People with blood group A should remove from daily diet almost all types of meat because this is the only way to reduced circulatory system diseases and cancer. It’s quite understandable, that you will need some time, to change your habit to change to vegetarian food, but it’s important to start.  Start by removing from your diet all the beef and pork meat, and replace it with fish and white chicken meat and turkey made it in the oven or on the grill. Meat industry must forget on you as a customer, since these products contain nitrites, which could cause stomach cancer to the people, which have low lever of stomach acid – people with group A. Neutral: chicken, turkey. Harmful: goose, beef, lamb, deer, liver, rabbit, quail, duck, bacon, baby, deer, pork, ham, veal, rabbit.

fishFISH – A group A may eat moderate quantities of fish 3-4x a week, but it should avoid any white fish, as a plaice, because it contains lectins, which irritates digestive tract. If you are a woman with blood type A and there have been cancer present in your family, consider to get on your menu snails. Garden snails contain lectins, which modify cancer cells, in particular those of cancer in the chest.

Here are some examples where lectins work for our side: fish prepared in the oven, on the grill on the white source, – only preparing it this way will help you get the most of this food.  Useful: carp, raw salmon, sea trout, sea devil, white fish, cod, river perch, sardines, mackerel, rainbow troutNeutral: sturgeon, swordfish, redfish, pike, white tuna, seabass. Harmful: sea bass, octopus, eel, mussel, lepotka – venernica, smoked salmon, sea language sea salmon, plaice, halibut, oysters, hake, crustaceans, pilgrimage scallop (capesante), sardines, cuttlefish (KALAMAR), herring (marinated), which, haddock, frogs.


MILK, DAIRY PRODUCTS AND EGGS

Group A can take in only small quantities, of fermented cheese, but should avoid products with whole milk, and also limit consumptions of eggs ( 1-3 a week). Anyone, who is used to consume milk products daily, should not necessary completely eliminate them, it should be enough to choose from the less-fat products such as yoghurt or skimmed milk, kefir, and some cheeses. Goat milk is a good substitute cow and of course, soy milk and soya cheese.

Group A have quite difficulties digesting dairy products. The reason is as fallow: the immune system produces antibodies to one of the components of whole milk, sugar, D-galaktozamine, which together with the fructose builds up B antigen. Since the immune system react to everything that remains to blood type B, also reacts to whole milk products.

If you are allergic or have respiratory problems, you can be sure that the consumption of dairy products increased production of mucus, which is a good basis for the reproduction of bacteria. Therefore, this is one more reason to restrict dairy products in your diet. Useful: soy milk, soy cheese.  Neutral: goat milk, goat cheese, processed cheese, yogurt, kefir, mozzarella, sheep’s cheese (feta), Ricotta. Harmful: curd, granular curd, Brie, Camembert, Cheddar, Edam, Emmental, Gouda, gruyere, Münster and skimmed milk, Parmesan cheese, buttermilk, Provolone cheese with noble mold, whey, ice cream, cream cheese.

Camping – going back to nature

camping_beschriebBy definition of Britannica, camping is recreational activity, where participants place temporarily shelter outdoor; usually tent or specially designed or adapted vehicle as caravan.

Is this recreation??

For those, carrying tent attached to backpack and cyclers, which have it attached on carrier – we can definitely call it recreation. On the other hand, we can notice that these days is very popular more luxurious way of holidays, in more adopted vehicles and caravan, where the only recreation is the way to the public toilets.  But also these days, toilets can be finding in all modern vehicles.

My cynicism maybe is not in the place, but anyway, I must say, choosing camping holidays is becoming more and more popular.

Putting up tend and getting all ready to spend the night under the sky, means a more wider understanding of spending holidays in the nature. Having a lie-down in front of the tent is just a part of activity, which are widely –orientated recreational sports.

And yet, it seems we are getting closer to camping definition. But, why not spending holidays in apartments or a hotel? If nothing else, there’s always handy bathroom. I think the answer lying in flower-power philosophy, if we would of course reduce it to “freedom”.

In general, I think this is the most common issue, which convinces people to go camping. Flower-power generation has loved freedom, traveling, camping – with two words “beautiful summer”. Something about freedom; If I exaggerate a bit – to a today’s modern people freedom is in very mutilated version, as we are all struggling to survive in our little world. Camping is not necessary cheap, they can empty your wallet quit a lot, but still, with some precautions and luck, you can have a fabulous time also for small money.

The reason, that is not very cheap, has attracted a lot of snobbish people, to spend their holidays this way. This indicates, that smart and expensive cars are not all, a successfully business man should afford. Cars are already boring and everyone already has it. But not everyone has caravan. Not a lot people know who to use it. Nevertheless those who have caravan or a holiday trailer, count so something special.

On the other hand – some would like to get rid of that feeling. Camping or caravanning?? Caravanning is similar to camping, but it combines together living and traveling (camping) with a trailer or trailer. Caravanning excludes idea of sending the holidays in tent.

The main advantage of motorhome is higher mobility as you can spend the night also on parking place for trailers. With caravan we could restrain long distance and get to know macro region better. Another great advantages is, that with a caravan or trailer, you could get to some places that would be out of rich, if you are in a tent or have book your holiday through agency. Weak point for tent would be putting it up each day, also in a bad weather, which can lead to some unpleasant memories. But, do not forget the brave ones, who would put up tent in every weather condition.

A bit more about history of camping

Far back in the history, people have been traveling and living in their own mobile homes; either because of pastoralist life, either because of major war relocation or other relocations.

This of course cannot be definition of camping as it wasn’t a fun recreation, but plain survival. People obviously do want to go back to our roots – but is not only nature, that attracts us, but also the history of the indivisibility of our ancestors.

travel-graphics-200_433826a Thomas Hiram Holding was still a little boy, when he traveled with his perents through huge America, using train. 1.200 kilometer long road, during which they slept in the open air, inspired him, and he has lived his dream almost a quarter of the century later. This was firstly in 1877 when he had travel to Scotland with canoes, and he repeated this travel once again a year later. He was camping all the way to Scotland. Afterward he wrote two books about it, and the third one, in year 1898, when he combined camping and cycleling.

Three years after, he has founded Association of Cycle Campers. This association with other association has been starting point for creating a new Camping Club of Great Britain and Ireland, which merged together all previous associations.

This Association is still working today, a good hundred years later. Likewise, caravan Club of Great Britain was founded this year, and is still competition to a Camping Club.
