It rarely happens to me that such a huge company like Google surprises me. But that is exactly what happened on Thursday. At the Google conference in San Francisco, the future of e-mail – Google Wave was unvealed. Google Wave is still in development stage and therefore inaccessible to general public at the moment so unfortunately we will have to be satisfyed with Gmail for the moment. The exact date of the launch of Google Wave is still not known yet, but Google said that it will be most certainly this year.
Google Wave is a combination of email and the dialog (chat), and will allow rapid exchange of text, photos, video, documents and files. All communication will take place in real time. E-mail of the future is designed by Google creators, who have already created Google Maps, Jens and Lars Rasmussen, who say that Google Wave is “attempted merger of virtual conversation and cooperation.” They claim that this application is a paradise for all those working on large projects, but thousands of kilometers away.
For the manufacture of Google Wave they have borrowed a few elements of Gmail, Twitter and Facebook, as interesting, however: a spell checker in Google Wave will be so advanced that it automaticly Correct every wrong word that the user will write the wrong word and not just by words Google Wave will understand the context. This was done so that the base words do not use only the dictionary, but the Internet, which offers a database of phrases, words, and a wide variety of sentences. We have no other choice other than to wait and see the latest Google product. My opinion is that Google Wave will significantly change our behavior on the Internet in the future.
